Because the Matric Certificate establishes the primary record of a student legal name, father name, and date of birth across all national databases, every subsequent academic and professional verification depends on it. Foreign employers, particularly in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and overseas universities require the certificate to undergo board verification followed by federal attestation by the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC).

- Regular candidates receive their original Matric Sanad from their educational institution, while private candidates receive it from the issuing board within one to two years of examination results.
- In case of loss or damage, apply for a duplicate certificate at the relevant BISE board branch with an FIR copy and examination roll number.
- Before federal attestation, the issuing BISE board must inspect its master archives and issue a sealed verification slip addressed to IBCC.

- Any discrepancy in student name, father name, or date of birth must be corrected through the issuing BISE Board Correction Committee before attestation is undertaken.
- Corrections require submitting primary school admission registers, the child B-Form, and parents CNIC records to prove the clerical error.
Match spelling with Matric and CNIC; Educational authorities and MOFA reject files where your name or parent name has spelling differences between your degree, matric certificate, and CNIC.
IBCC and MOFA for overseas use
HEC or IBCC apex attestation, MOFA stamping, and consular certification
- The certificate must first be verified by the issuing BISE board in a sealed envelope, which is submitted directly to the IBCC for digital attestation and QR-code stamping.
- Following IBCC verification, the document moves to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) for federal legalisation or the Hague Apostille.
- For non-Apostille destinations like the UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar, the MOFA-attested certificate is submitted to the destination country embassy in Islamabad.
