Certified by the reporting police station and legalised by MOFA, the report verifies the formal reporting of the lost document.
When an expatriate or dual national loses a foreign passport in Pakistan, the lost passport FIR must also be submitted to their home country embassy in Islamabad and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to obtain emergency travel documents or replacement exit visas.

- An FIR is a permanent statutory record and cannot be altered. Any clerical correction requires recording a supplementary statement (Zimni) at the police station.
